The ICPHSO community works tirelessly to make consumer products safe. Counterfeiters recklessly undermine our efforts by selling dangerous products masquerading as the genuine article. While e-commerce has revolutionized the way goods are bought and sold, it has also opened a direct-to-consumer channel for counterfeiters and copycats who simultaneously threaten public health and safety, hurt innovation and unfairly compete with legitimate manufacturers.

In this session you will hear from speakers tasked by a manufacturer, a retailer and a regulator to identify and remove counterfeits (and knock-offs) about their efforts to prevent these goods from reaching unsuspecting consumers. We will also hear the consumer’s perspective, all with the goal of providing actionable takeaways and proactive strategies throughout the entire process from monitoring to identification to enforcement of rights and prevention.
