Trish Heffernan is the Senior Advisor to the Director of the Risk Assessment Bureau in the Consumer and
Hazardous Products Safety Directorate at Health Canada. She supports the Director on issues related to
risk assessment, consumer product testing, and the identification and assessment of product trends, as
well as external relations and information and data services. For the majority of her time in the public
service before joining Health Canada, Trish worked for the Department of Justice Canada as Legal
Counsel for the Public Service Commission Legal Services. Prior to law school at the University of
Ottawa, she obtained a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto,
followed by a Graduate Diploma in Sport Administration from Concordia University.
